Ratio of dependence

Concepts and definitions:

Refers to the relative participation of the potentially inactive population group, which should be sustained by the potentially productive section of the population. High values indicate that the population of productive age should sustain a large proportion of dependents, which means considerable assistance burden for society.

Method of calculation:

Numerator: number of resident people aged 0 to 14 years and 60 and higher years of age.
Denominator: number of resident people aged 15 to 59 years of age.
Constant: 100

Unit of measure:

Multiplied by 100
