Concepts and definitions:
Refers to the number of cases of hospitalizations paid for by the Unified Health System (SUS), due to mental and behavioral disorders, in the resident population in a given geographical space, in the year considered.
Method of calculation:
Numerator: number of hospitalizations from mental and behavioral disorders (codes from Chapter V from ICD-10) according to age group, sex, locality of residence and year of hospitalization.
Denominator: resident population according to age group, sex, locality and year.
Constant: 100,000
Unit of measure:
Hospitalizations per 100 thousand inhabitants
