Refers to the number of confirmed new cases of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS - codes B20-B24 from ICD-10), per 100 thousand inhabitants, in the resident population in a given geographical space, in the year considered.
Method of calculation:
Numerator: number of new cases of AIDS in residents according to sex, locality of residence and year of notification.
Denominator: total inhabitant population in a given period.
Constant: 100,000

New cases per 100 thousand inhabitants
