Rate of mortality due to self-inflicted  wounds
Concepts and definitions:
Refers to the number of deaths of  inhabitants from self-inflicted wounds, in the resident population of a given geographical space, in the year considered.
Method of calculation:
Numerator: number of deaths from voluntarily self-inflicted wounds (ICD-10 codes X60 to X84 and Y87.0), according to age group, sex, locality of residence and year of death.  
Denominator: resident population according to age group, sex, locality and  year.
Constant: 100,000
Unit of measure:
Deaths per 100 thousand inhabitants
